Welcome to the New Haven Country Dancers! Contra dancing is a traditional American social dance that dates back to the 1700s. It’s fun, energetic, and welcomes people of all ages. We always dance to live music, and all dances are taught. Our events are alcohol- and smoke-free.
The caller will lead a beginners’ lesson before the dance, so arrive at 7:15pm to learn all the basics before the main dance begins. No partner necessary!
Admission is
- $15 general,
- $10 for students, and
- free for ages 8 and under.
